About Us
Our Vision
YEVA was first founded and operated by youth leader Yekta Gol under the mentorship of experienced professionals and advisors. She was born and raised in Calgary, Canada, with a bold vision for the future. Her passion for leadership was first discovered after she won the Calgary Stampede Essay Competition in 7th grade and became a Junior Reporter. That experience sparked her interest in community work, leading her to volunteer, debate, and eventually found her school’s Business Club. Now, Yekta focuses on empowering youth and expanding the vision of what the new generation can achieve.
The board will include youth representatives, community members, and immigrant service advisors to ensure inclusivity and accountability. The goal was to give young people space and support to grow into confident leaders who they aspire to be. This includes empowering the children of newly arrived immigrant families (within the last five years) to build confidence, leadership skills, and community connections through mentorship, academic support, and social engagement. Our program connects young people with their future and works on real opportunities to build essential skills that aren't taught in schools.
We look forward to building a safe and supportive environment for youth to grow.
